<p>The present invention is directed to compounds having formula (I), wherein R, R' and R''' are the same or different and are preferably hydrophobic groups, Z represents one or two bivalent segments and Y is H or is absent when Z represents two bivalent segments. R'' may be the same or different as R, R' and R''', and is absent when Z represents two bivalent segments. The invention further provides a method of making compounds according to formula (I). The compounds are useful as inhibitors of protein phosphatases, for example PP1, PP2A, PP3, CDC25A, CDC25B and CDC25C. The invention is further directed to a method of inhibiting a protein phosphatase, a method of inhibiting cell proliferation, and pharmaceutical compositions comprising the subject compounds.</p> |
