PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify and ensure the cleaning work of the parts to be fused of polyethylene(PE) pipes. SOLUTION: A sheet material 14 impregnated with an org. solvent is housed into a container 12 and this container is hermetically sealed prior to the piping work of the PE pipes 22, 23. A worker on a construction site takes the sheet material 14 impregnated with the org. solvent out of the container 21 and wipes the fusing parts 22a, 23a of the PE pipes 22, 23. The PE pipes 22, 23 are respectively inserted into an electrofusion(EF) joint 21 after the cleaning is executed. The PE pipes 22, 23 are then fused. As a result, the worker is merely required to take the material 14 impregnated with the org. solvent out of the hermetically sealed container 21 and wipes the fusing parts 22a, 23a at the time of cleaning and, therefore, the cleaning work is simplified and ensured. |
