PURPOSE:To prevent ignition or rupture caused by overcharge or short circuit and to also prevent electrolyte leakage with simple construction by installing a stripper for lead cutting to a explosion-proof valve which deforms in the internal pressure direction with increase in internal pressure. CONSTITUTION:When the internal pressure in a battery starts increasing by overcharge or short circuit, an explosion-proof valve 3 is pressed and deforms in the internal pressure direction. A lead plate 8 installed to the explosion-proof valve 3, in contact with it, separates from or breaks in the contacting part with deformation of the explosion-proof valve 3 and charging current is cut off. Abnormal reaction in the battery caused by overcharge of short circuit is stopped by cutting off current in the early stage. Increase in temperature caused by charging current or short circuit current is prevented in the early stage, and ignition or explosion of a battery or electrolyte leakage can be prevented. |
