PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the operation of eliminating inconvenience when inconvenience is caused in a device in the video system where a plurality of devices are interconnected by a control bus for communication of a control signal and a single video display device is used in common between the devices. SOLUTION: On the occurrence of an inconvenience state of a video cassette recorder(VCR) 2 such as overlapping of a time of an event reserved already and a time of an event going to be reserved newly, the occurrence of inconvenience is informed to a TV 1 via a control signal line 6, the TV 1 switches a video input to the position of the VCR 2 and the video output of the VCR 2 is used for a menu image. When the event time reserved already and the event time going to be reserved newly are overlapped, a list of programs reserved in advance already is displayed on the menu to urge the selection of a required operation (release of existing reservation and cancellation of new reservation).
