The turbine wheel has a shaft (1) fitted to the top of a mast and provided with a number of turbine blades (2), secured to the shaft via a carrier (3), the rotation of the shaft used to drive a dynamo. The turbine blades are each secured to the carrier via a pivot linkage (4), the front edge (5) of each turbine blade acting against a pressure plate (6) which is spring-biased to slide relative to the shaft, for pivoting the turbine blades about a rounded edge (8) at the inner end of each blade.
