The air-conditioning screw compressor is designed to compress the media [sic] in air-conditioning systems in motor vehicles, which then expands and this causes the cooling of the surroundings. The compressor works on the basis of the counter-rotating direction of two screws with left and right threads, and which are caught in the two shortened parallel cylinders. By the movement of each volume it is possible to create negative pressure or positive pressure depending on the direction of movement. The screws rotate one next to the other and they are driven by a couple of gear-wheels. The compressor can be controlled by an electronic device that enables the compressor to be turned on without a sudden movement, which may cause passengers to be jerked forward. The compressor does not use the same pressure power all the time as the pressure power is a controlled value, and the device sets this value according to the passenger cabin's needs at current conditions.
