PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency of conversion by measuring the lapse of time from a certain key input operation to the next key input operation and defining a position just before character data, for which the lapse of time in series of character data is longer than prescribed time, as the partition of a clause. SOLUTION: When there is the key input operation of a keyboard 102 and a depressed key is not a convert key 102a but a key buffer 103a is set in initial state, input character data corresponding to the input operated key are stored in the key buffer 103a but when the key buffer is not set in the initial state, the input character data corresponding to the input operated key are stored in the key buffer 103a and the lapse of time counted by a time lapse counter 101a at that time is stored as the storage value of a time lapse register 101b. Then, it is judged whether the stored value in the time lapse register 101b is more than a reference value or not and when it is more than the reference value, the position just before such character data is defined as the partition of the clause. |
