<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the scanning method for a DCT coefficient used to compress image data for a satellite mount sensor by using n×n picture elements as one block, scanning part of an image not affected by a longitudinal stripe component of the image due to a conversion characteristic difference between even order number and odd order number picture elements and then scanning the affected part. SOLUTION: When a DCT coefficient from a DCT computing element obtained by calculating data where n×n picture elements are used for one block is received in the raster scanning(RS) sequence, the data of one block are stored in an n×n buffer memory(nBM)1 in the RS sequence and then read and then data of succeeding one block are stored in the nBM 2 in the RS sequence. In the read from the nBM 1, 2, the data are at first scanned in directions of shown in Figure in the nBM 2 according to the scanning sequence stored in advance in a scanning address generator and then a DCT coefficient affected by a longitudinal stripe component is scanned. Thus, the scanning method of the DCT coefficient used to compress image data for a satellite mount sensor at a high compression rate is obtained.</p> |
