The switching device has a movable element (5) projecting into the coin channel (3) and displaced by a received coin (2), for providing an electrical switching signal used to switch the device from a rest condition to an active condition. The side of the movable element opposite to that facing the coin channel has a piezoelement (7) and a weight (10), which is freely movable, so that it contacts the piezoelement upon deflection of the movable element to provide the switching signal.
