<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove a covering layer on the end part of a wire efficiently without damaging the inner part of the core of the wire by a method wherein a pair of blades which are provided so as to face each other are driven to get close to each other to cut the covering layer while the electrical continuity between the blade and the shielding layer of the wire is tested and, when the electrical continuity is detected, the driving is stopped. SOLUTION: The end part of a wire 62 is fixed between a pair of blades 70 which are provided so as to face each other. The blades 70 are made to get close to the core of the wire 62 while the electrical continuity between the blade 70 and the shielding layer 56 of the wire 62 is tested by an electrical continuity test unit 74 to cut the covering layer 60 of the wire 62. When the electrical continuity between the blade 70 and the shielding layer 56 is detected, the movement of the blades 70 is stopped and then the blades 70 are moved in the direction of the end of the wire 62 to remove the covering layer 60 on the end part 62 to expose the core 58 of the wire 62. With this constitution, the covering layer 60 can be removed quickly while an insulation covering layer 54 inside the shielding layer 56 of the core 58 of the wire 62 is not damaged by the blades 70.</p> |
