PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a discharge lamp bulb or a socket from being damaged by providing a fixing means for fixing a socket for a discharge bulb at a normal connection position with the discharge lamp bulb and insulating between two type of power supply terminals if the discharge bulb is not fixed to the normal connection position. SOLUTION: When a socket 11 is mounted on a discharge lamp bulb 1, a coupling part 12 of the socket 11 is externally engaged with a base part 4 of the bulb 1, an insulation wall 24 is pressurized backwardly by means of a back end of a shorter diameter part 6 of the base part 4, and the insulation wall 24 is moved backwardly against a spring 25. At this time, a high side power supply terminal 21 of the socket 11 is connected to a high terminal 10 of the bulb 1, a low side power supply 23 is elastically contacted with a low terminal 8 of the bulb 1, and the socket 11 is rotated and fixed. If rotation of the socket 11 is not at a normal position, the spring 25 is acted so as to push out the bulb 1, the socket 11 slips off from the bulb 1, the insulation wall 24 is moved, and between the high side power supply terminal 21 and the low side power supply terminal 23 is insulated. |
