The stator (1) has stator teeth (5) provided with coils (7) . Each coil (7) is associated with a cord. The coils of a cord are wired together. An electrically conductive connection element (31) is associated with at least one cord. The connection element (31) connects the individual coils (7) to each other at least over partial sections. The connection element (31) may form an inlet line and an outlet line and two of these elements may be associated with one of the coil groups. The connection elements may be ring shaped or circular segment shaped and may be arranged on the coil head (9). The elements may have connections to receive one of the ends of the coil.
