PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel polyester having excellent optical properties and heat resistance, good solubility in general organic solvents, and excellent mechanical properties and moldability and to provide a molded product (e.g. optical disc base, a lens, or a binder of an organic color) made therefrom. SOLUTION: This polyester comprises a compound represented by the formula (wherein R1 is a 2-4C alkylene; R2 , R3 , R4 and R5 , which may be the same or different from each other, are hydrogen atoms, 1-4C alkyls, aryls or aralkyls) and molded products are made from the same. |
