A communications cable (NK1) having several electrical transmission elements (VE1,VE4) which are stranded together to form a long-length cable core (KS). Several long-length earth conductors (EL1, EL4) having approx. the same pitch, as well as the same winding direction, as the transmission elements are helically lengthwise located on the cable core. The earth conductors are mutually displaced, as seen along the length of the core, by approx. the same peripheral angle around the outer circumference of the cable core.
