PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a caller to recognize the status of a called user of a PHS slave set by setting a speech state without ringing with respect to a reception signal from a caller PHS slave set so as to pick up sound around a microphone, thereby informing the sound to the caller. SOLUTION: A reception signal from an antenna 1 is demodulated by a radio equipment 2 and sounded from a receiver via a voice processing unit 3. A CS-ID detector 4 detects a base station number CS-ID as a signal to set up a speech line among digital signals outputted from the radio equipment 2. On the other hand, a user code detector 5 detects a code specific to the user from a caller side PHS slave set and gives the code to a controller 6. In this case, the controller avoids call ringing operation from the voice processing unit 3, sets a speech state, picks up sound around a microphone and informs it to the caller PHS slave set. Thus, the situation of the called user of a slave PHS set is not recognized by other but it is informed to the caller PHS slave set.
