REAL-TIME ON-LINE ANALYSIS OF ORGANIC AND NON-ORGANIC COMPOUNDS FOR FOOD, FERTILIZERS AND PHARMACEUTICAL PRODUCTS

An apparatus (10) for infrared spectroscopy having a succession of collimated light beams generated by a launcher (15) and transmitted by fiber optics (21) which transmits radiation throughout the middle and near infrared spectrum. The radiation impinges the sample(s) delivered by a sorting mechanism (27) and the diffuse component of the reflected light is measured throughout the middle and near infrared spectrum. This diffuse component is analyzed by a neural network to determine such characteristics as content of the sample(s).
