The invention concerns a process for producing cellulose fibres and cellulosic fibre products. According to the invention, the properties of cellulosic fibres spun from tertiary amine solutions or fibre products produced therefrom are improved owing to a treatment with a zinc chloride solution, which optionally contains an acid, with a zinc chloride concentration ranging from approximately 30 to 70 wt % at a temperature ranging from approximately 10 to 250 DEG C. The following improvements are attained over untreated fibres or fibre products: the tendency to fibrillate is reduced; grey-film formation is prevented and does not occur even after repeated washing; and the feel is softer and retains its softness even after repeated washing. Furthermore, the depth of dye absorption and uniformity are improved and retained even after repeated washing. |
