The seat is movable on two sliders (7) equipped with a motor-driven endless-thread screw (11) and a nut (13) fixed by means of a bolt (14). When the backrest is tilted the bolt is placed in a disengaged position, secured by a wedge (35) when the seat is slid forward. The backrest is locked in the tilted position by a hook connected to the bolt by a cable (29). The hook engages in a notch in the backrest and cannot be freed until the wedge is retracted allowing the bolt to be returned to the locked position.
