Gel-carrying sealant profiles having a C-, V-, or U-shaped plastics channel carrier with gel on its external and/or internal surfaces for sealing between opposed surfaces of structures such as equipment housings or doors and windows. The profiles may have a projecting formation, preferably integral with the carrier, for fixing the profile to an object, e.g. by means of an enlarged portion of the formation being received in an aperture in the object. Carriers in a form similar to known "flipper" seals are especially useful for door and window seals or other multi-entry closures. Preferred gels are triblock or multi-block copolymers having a highly oil-extended polyalkylene elastomeric mid-block and harder end blocks, preferably of polystyrene or polyalkylmethacrylate. |
