<p>PURPOSE:To identify a faulty card or a faulty place in a short time by shifting a system to a monitor mode when the initialized hardware(H/W) is decided to be defective as the result of self-diagnosis. CONSTITUTION:When the H/D on a card is initialized by system reset, a self- diagnostic means 3 executes self-diagnosis about whether the H/D (system on its own card) is indefective or not. Then, as the result of the self-diagnosis, if there is no error, an own card initialization completing means 4 executes completion processing by outputting a signal to inform the completion of the initialization, and the system is shifted to normal processing. On the other hand, as the result of the self-diagnosis, if there is an error (H/D is defective),by storing an error code in an internal memory and starting a monitor by a monitor starting means 6, the system is shifted to the monitor mode. Thus, even if the fault occurs at the time of the start of the system, fault information can be easily read out, and the identification of the faulty card or the faulty place can be executed in a short time.</p> |
