The disclosure relates to an integrated optical laser/modulator radiation source in which a laser section (A) and a modulator section (B) electrically isolated from one another are structured on a common layer-waveguide (20) provided with a laser-active layer (7) consisting of one or more potential well layers (7i) in the following way: a lattice layer (3) of the laser section is applied to a mantel layer (4) of the layer-waveguide (20) and a contact layer (2a) of the laser section is applied to the lattice layer (3).
