Articulator for use in dentistry

The articulator (1) has a first centring base (12) situated on a fixed baseplate (2) and a second centring base (13) situated on a swingable arm (3) which is hinged to an upright (6,7) by a ball joint (4,5). Between the baseplate and the centring base a number of adjusting components (18,19,24,25,28,29) is provided so that the orientation of the base with respect to the baseplate can be adjusted on a three dimensional basis. The adjusting components include a spiral face (18) and an eccentric face (24) and two co-operating lugs (19,25). The spiral face lies on the centre (16) of the baseplate and the adjusting movement of the centring base takes place along the vertical axis (17) of that centre. The eccentric face can allow movement of the base away from the axis. Operation can be achieved by levers (20,23).
