PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically return a developing unit to a home position when the developing unit is stopped in the midst of the moving action in a rotary type developing device driven by a motor. SOLUTION: This developing device is the full color developing device constituted so that the plural developing units 31C, 31M, 31Y and 31Bk are fitted to a rack 80. The rack 80 can be rotated in a direction shown by an arrow (c). Then, the respective units are intermittently rotated 90 deg. by 90 deg. and respective developing sleeves 32 are set at a developing position D faced to a photoreceptor drum 10. This developing device is driven to be rotated in the direction shown by the arrow (c) first when a power source is turned on or reset and controlled to be decelerated by as much as a prescribed rotating angle when a light shielding plate 91 integrally rotated with the rack 80 is detected by a photosensor 90. Then, the developing sleeve of the unit 31Bk is returned to the home position faced to the developing position D. |
