PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tundish nozzle which is easily and inexpensively producible, substantially prevents the destabilization of a base material and has high corrosion resistance and a process for producing the same as the tundish nozzle and the process for producing the same. SOLUTION: The calcined compact of the tundish nozzle essentially consisting of completely and/or partially stabilized zirconia is impregnated with a soln. which precipitates or dissociates unstabilized zirconia by heating. The open surface of the base material constituting particles is coated with the unstabilized zirconia by heating, by which the tundish nozzle substantially preventing the destabilization of the base material and having the high corrosion resistance is obtd. Since there is no need for forming two layers of moldings, the simple production is made possible and since the amt. of the unstabilized zirconia to be used is small, the inexpensive production is possible. |
