PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the development of arc in the suitable non-coated state of a remained welding rod by containing a specific quantity of a sepiolite having a specific grain diameter in a coating agent and specifying concn. of a binder composed of a specific component. SOLUTION: In a non-low hydrogen coated arc welding rod, the sepiolite is contained by 0.10-0.40wt.% and further, >=85wt.% of <=105μm grain diameter in the coating agent. Further, the concn. of the binder mixing potassium silicate and sodium silicate is made to 38-48B/e. By this constitution, the welding rod improving rearcing property can be obtd. and welding wax is easily executed and the welding workability is improved.
