PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new compound as a specific benzotriazole compound, absorbing ultraviolet ray and imparting a light resistance, a chemical resistance, etc., by adding the compound to a heat sensitive recording layer, etc., of a heat sensitive recording material containing an electron donating compound and electron accepting compound. SOLUTION: This new benzotriazole compound is expressed by formula I [A is a group of the formula: -NH(CH2 )n NH- (n is 1-6), formula II or formula III] (e.g.; N,N'-bis- 3-[3-tert-butyl-4-hydroxy-5-(2H-benzotriazol-2-yl) phenyl]propionyl} ethylenediamine), and can impart excellent light resistance, chemical resistance and record travelling properties by adding the compound to a heat sensitive layer of a heat sensitive recording material containing an electron donating compound and an electron accepting compound. This compound obtained by reacting an acid chloride expressed by formula IV with an alkylene diamine, piperazine or p-phenylenenediamine, etc., in the presence of a neutralizing agent for hydrogen chloride. |
