PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IC card reader-writer for which an operation, maintenance and the insertion of an IC card are facilitated and to provide the operation method therefor. SOLUTION: A main body part 110 is provided with an IC card insertion port 111 and an operation display part and the main body part 110 is constituted of an upper cover part 116 and a lower side part 117. Then, on a side provided with the IC card insertion port 111, the upper cover part 116 and the lower side part 117 are shifted, a step part 118 is formed and further, a shelf part 119 recessed more than the step part 118 is formed at the part of the IC card insertion port 111. Then, the upper cover part 116 and the lower side part 111 of the main body part 110 are separatable. Further, the surface of the upper cover part 116 is curved upwards in the opposite direction of the insertion port of the IC card so as to increase the thickness of this IC card reader-writer on the opposite side of the insertion port of the IC card and a display part 115 is positioned at a tilted part constituted by being curved. |
