The apparatus comprises an arm (9) for picking up one bag (2) at a time from a stack (1), a conveyor (4) with a number of receivers {5) adapted to receive a bag (2) removed from the stack by the arm, and a first and second transfer devices (6,7) for transferring the bag (2) to a filling machine with the proper orientation for being filled. The arm (3) includes suction cup members permanently communicating with a space maintained at a pressure lower than the atmospheric pressure. |
