PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a display format desirable for a user when it is required for the user without limiting an icon display format or a list display format. SOLUTION: Data stored in a data storage means 12 for display are displayed on a color table display means 9 as a color table in the selected display format. The user selects any colors to be set to the various data of a document and the selected colors are set to the various data of the document by a color setting means 8. Thus, the plural display formats are freely selected for the set (color table) of colors to be set and color setting can be easily performed in document editing.
