MICROCAPSULE DISPERSION FOR COLD TRANSFER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heat transfer medium which is a microcapsule dispersion capable of transferring a large amt. of cold suitable in an air-conditioning temp. range at a flow rate of the dispersion lower than required when water alone is used and which is suitable as a heat transfer medium for air- conditioning using a chiller-type refrigerator. SOLUTION: This water-base microcapsule dispersion for cold transfer contains microcapsules contg. a hexadecane-pentadecane mixture as the heat storage material. The mixing ratio of hexadecane to pentadecane is pref. (8:2)-(1:9), still pref. (7:3)-(2:8). When a supercooling-preventing material is used jointly with the heat storage material, fusion and solidification are repeated in a narrower temp. range.
