PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a medicine composition containing heparin cofactor II (hereinafter referred to as HCII) as an active ingredient, and useful as a medicine for preventing and treating septicemia, abnormal blood flow-causing diseases, etc., and obtain a composition containing antitropin III (hereinafter referred to as ATIII). SOLUTION: This composition contains HCII as an active ingredient. The HCII is originated from a human, and purified in an extent capable of being used as a medicine. The natural HCII can be purified, e.g., from human whole blood, plasma, etc., and the artificial HCII is produced by culturing a host cell transformed with a recombined vector containing a DNA coding the natural HCII. The composition is preferably administered at a daily dose of 1-10000 unit/kg body. The composition is preferably administered together with the ATIII. |
