PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle brake device equipped with an assisting force giving means whereby an assisting force in accordance with the sensing value given by a brake operating force sensor is added to the operating force for a brake operation member and the resultant is applied to the pressure input member of a master cylinder, with which it is possible to increase the braking force, prevent the wheel from being put in the locked condition when brakes are applied, and thereupon enhancing the durability by reducing the operating frequency of braking fluid pressure controlling means. SOLUTION: Braking fluid pressure controlling means 76FL, 76FR, 76RL, 76RR are installed between a master cylinder M and wheel brakes BFL, BFR, BRL, BRR and are controlled together with an assisting force giving means 10 by an electronic control unit 88. In the anti-lock brake control mode, it is possible to reduce the braking fluid pressure of the wheel brakes BFL, BFR, BRL, BRR by reduction of the output fluid pressure from the master cylinder M in association with operation of the means 10 toward the assisting force reduction side. |
