PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent much electric power from being consumed by a hot stamp for erasing a visible image recorded in a reversible thermosensitive recording medium and also prevent the performance of a recording device from becoming less reliable due to the consequent internal temperature rise of the recording device. SOLUTION: A metal block 32 with a heater 31 for a hot stamp 3 to erase a visible image recorded in a reversible thermosensitive recording medium is covered with heat insulating materials 33, 34. When a recording device is in a standby position, a heat radiation from the surface is suppressed by shutting off the heat of the heater 31 using heat insulating materials 33, 34 and thereby lowering a surface temperature. When the reversible thermosensitive recording medium comes into contact with the hot stamp 3, the medium is heated to a specified temperature level by depressing the heat insulating material 34 and thereby minimizing the temperature drop by the heat insulating material 34. |
