A conveyor worm (F) conveys used toner (TO) from the trough (WN) of a cleaning station (RS). One end of a fixed spring hook (FH) projects between adjacent turns of the conveyor worm (F). During one turn of the conveyor worm (F), said spring hook (FH) is deflected and the conveyor worm (F) is jolted. If the spring hook jumps a turn of the conveyor worm (F), the latter is released pulsewise and can thus enlarge its operating range on the used toner (TO). The used toner (TO) is reliably discharged.
