PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain high speed data communication in a low speed analog communication line by dividing transmission data into blocks, providing sequence information representing data arrangement before dividing to the blocks, modulating each block and sending the modulated block to a transmission line in parallel. SOLUTION: The data source 1s is made up of a multiplexer/demultiplexer section 2 being a division/synthesis means and plural transmitter side MODEMs 3 being parallel transmission means, and a data receiver 1R is made up of plural receiver side MODEMs 4 being parallel reception means and a decoding section 5 being a decoding/synthesis means. Since MODHMs whose maximum data transmission speed is 9600bps are adopted for the data source side and sink side MODEMs 3, 4, 7-sets each of MODEMs (64kbps÷9.6kpbs≈6.67) are provided for the data source and data sink sides respectively and 7 general public telephone lines LA are used for communication, then data are transmitted at a high speed of 64kbps.
