PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress expansion and shrinkage of sensitized paper for thermal transfer and to prevent curling thereof in relation to both changes in temperature and humidity by providing a woven fabric layer in a base in the sensitized paper having a dye-accepting layer on one surface of the base. SOLUTION: Sensitized paper 10 for thermal transfer has basically a laminated structure of a sheetlike base 2, a dye-accepting layer 3 formed on the surface of the base and a back coat layer 4 formed on the rear thereof, like usual sensitizedpaper. This base 2 has a laminated structure of a first film layer 11, a woven fabric layer 12 and a second film layer 13. For the woven fabric layer 12, woven fabric made of various organic or inorganic fibers is used and no particular limitation is put on the way of weaving the woven fabric, plain weave fabric or the like being used, for instance. For the film layers 11 and 13, a resin film of polypropylene, polyester, polyethylene or others, or the like, is used, while a foamed film is used preferably from the viewpoint of enhancing the sensitivity of the sensitized paper. |
