PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize high speed operation without largely restricting the design of an ADF and an RDH. SOLUTION: When a print key is depressed, a 1st document 7 is fed to a contact glass 12 by the ADF 2, and 1st paper 3 is fed from one of paper feeding cassettes 4 to 6. When the trailing edge of the 1st document 7 passes a document detector 9, the 2nd document is detected but the 2nd paper and the succeeding paper 3 are fed at intervals of specified time T1 whether the corresponding document exists or not. In the case the document 7 corresponding to the paper 3 is not detected before the paper 3 reaches a transfer charger 27, image forming processing is stopped, and the superfluous paper 3 is piled up on an intermediate tray 38 by a movable guide 31. In the case of performing copying processing, whether or not the paper 3 exists on the tray 38 is detected by a sensor 45, and the paper is fed from the cassettes 4 to 6 in the case the paper does not exist, and the paper is fed from the tray 38 preferentially in the case the paper exists. |
