Sugaring unit for baked wares e.g. jam doughnuts

A sugaring unit (1) for baked wares (14) is claimed. Its processing drum (2) has treatment channels (3) running axially, which are rotated through a reception- (S1) and a delivery position (S2). A cover (6) lies over the region of the drum circumference through which the treatment channels (3) pass, during their journey from the reception- (S1) to the delivery position (S2). Pref. the reception position (S1) is above the delivery position (S2). The sugar delivery unit is above the drum and reception position (S1). Delivery is effected by a dosing roller (11) beneath the storage vessel (8). Reception- and delivery positions (S1, S2) have an angular displacement of at least 180 deg . The cover includes openings (7) at the delivery position (S2). Beneath these, is a sugar recirculating device including a conveyor belt (22) running parallel to the drum axis. An endless sieve band is included (26), running over two return rollers (28, 29), with an intercepting funnel (30) below, and between the rollers.
