Operating instrument for endoscopic procedures

The instrument has a tubular shaft and a handpiece. The handpiece connects to an operating element which can move within the shaft. The element has a coupling at the hand piece end. The other end is a tool for the particular procedure to be undertaken. The coupling may be quickly released, allowing the element to be moved to and fro within the shaft. Exchangeable tool pieces are stored in a magazine so that they may be quickly exchanged via a quick release coupling.
