PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display element which is inexpensively, is bright in display images and is free from unequal colors. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display element is constituted by arranging two substrates 1, 11 respectively having electrodes on one main surface in such a manner that these electrodes 7, 13 face each other and the color filters are formed on one substrate of two substrates and holding a liquid crystal compsn. between these two substrates. Grid-shaped light shielding films 3 having apertures on the substrates formed with the color filters are formed and the color filters 5a, 5b, 5c are formed in the apertures of the light shielding films 3 in such a manner that these color filters are formed lower than the light shielding films 3. |
