ABS compounds with improved impact strength and light stability

Polymer alloys (I), contg. (A) 80-99.7 wt.% ABS plastic, (B1) 0.3-20 wt.% acid-functional nitrile rubber and, per 100 pts.wt. of mixt. A+B1, (B2) 0-2 pts.wt. polyether-silicone, (B3) 0-2 pts.wt. polyester-silicone, (B4) 0-10 pts.wt. pigments and (C) 0-500 pts.wt. polycarbonate. Also claimed are (i) polymer alloys (I) contg. (A) 90-99.2 pts.wt. ABS plastic in which at least 70 wt.% of the polybutadiene grafting base has a mean particle dia. of 50-300 mu m, (B) 0.8-10 pts.wt. of a mixt. of (B1) 20-90 wt.% acid-functional nitrile rubber and (B2) 10-80 wt.% polyether-silicone, and (C) 0-150 pts.wt. polycarbonate; (ii) a process for the prodn. of (I) by mixing the components in the melt at 160-265 deg C.
