<p>A printer (1) includes an ink jet printer (2), a medium tray (4) for transferring medium (3) printed by this printer (2), a medium feeding mechanism (5) and a medium recovery mechanism (6). The printer (2) includes an ink-jet printing head (21) and a tray transfer mechanism for reciprocatingly transferring the medium tray (4) along a predetermined transfer route through a printing position where the medium (3) is printed by the printing head (21). The medium tray (4) on which an unprinted medium (3) is placed is disposed on the medium feed side of the printer (2), the medium tray (4) is transferred through the printing position where the medium (3) is printed by the printing head (21), and the medium is printed in the position. The medium tray (4) is ejected to the side of a medium tray discharge portion (24). After the medium (3) is taken out, the medium tray (4) is returned to the original position. Printing of the medium (3) is repeated by reciprocatingly moving the medium tray (4) on which the medium (3) is placed. An index or the like is easily printed on the surface of a sheet-like recording medium such as CD-R.</p> |
