The invention relates to a method for making barium silicate glass which consists, by weight, of 35-70% of barium sulfate, 2-10% of cokes and 25-60% of silica sand. The barium silicate glass is produced by melting the components at a temperature of 1,400-1,600deg. C in a continuous furnace (2). SOx gas generating out of the furnace is eliminated by spraying NaOH solution from NaOH solution tank (4) and absorbing the gas in absorption towers (3a,3b).
