PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display text with high-grade characters and to smooth the color change at the time of reproducing music tone by a so-called CD-G. SOLUTION: This text display device has a character recognition section 24 which recognizes the text to be displayed by the packs of sub-codes in character units and converts the text into codes, a text memory section 2 which previously stores the text, a text matching section 27 which specifies the character strings of the text stored in the text memory section 26 from the recognized character strings and outputs these codes and a text generating section 29 which reads the character codes outputted out of an outline font dictionary 30 for storing the external shapes of the characters with vector data, develops the character codes and stores the codes into a V-RAM 31. The text generating section 31 overwites the character parts from the left with red according to the color change sequence data by the detected packs if the two packs instructing the color change are detected in the case one character is displayed by the packs for two lines. |
