PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control lighting by reliably detecting the human body even in a position separate from a pyroelectric sensor while almost running along a wall surface. SOLUTION: In a wall mounting type luminaire which is provided with a pyroelectric sensor 3 to detect a heat ray emitted by the human body and is installed on a wall surface 1 and controls lighting of a lamp by a detecting signal of the pyroelectric sensor 3, a detecting area 5 of the pyroelectric sensor 3 is formed by containing plural heat ray detecting areas 5a formed in a radial shape on the front side of the pyroelectric sensor 3 in the cross-sectional direction in parallel to a floor surface 4. The plural heat ray detecting areas 5a are formed so that an angle A of visibility becomes small as it becomes the parallel direction from the vertical direction to the wall surface 1, and the heat ray detecting area 5a closest to the wall surface 1 of the pyroelectric sensor 3 is set in a width narrower than a width of a detecting object at a maximum detecting distance of the pyroelectric sensor 3. The heat ray detecting areas 5a are also made dense as they become the parallel direction from the vertical direction to the wall surface 1.
