A cam follower comprises a follower roller 10 supported by needle bearings 4, which may be caged, on a hardened portion 3 of a cylindrical pin 1 and axially located by a head 6 of the pin and a thrust washer 7 which is itself located between a wire circlip 8 seated in a circumferential groove 5 of the pin and a member to be actuated (not shown) to which the pin is secured. An annular recess within the washer 7 receives the circlip 8. The pin may be secured to the member to be actuated by a nut engaging a screw-threaded end 2, by riveting over the end of the pin, by welding, by a dowel pin through a transverse bore in the pin 1, or by a set screw engaging a flat on the pin 1. |
