PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the time for detecting a sight line by optimally controlling the output of a lighting means lighting an eyeball and the storage time of a light- intercepting means taking in an eyeball image so as to obtain the optimal eyeball image for an observer and using control information obtained at the time of the operation collecting a sight line correcting datum, in correspondance to the degree of the effect from an external light during using a device by the observer and the way of peeping an observing surface by the observer. SOLUTION: In the operation collecting the sight line correcting data performed prior to the detection of the sight line, each operation control information of the lighting means 107, 13 and the light-intercepting means 14 is obtained and stored based on the output of a distance detecting means, an operation control means 100, which controls the operation of the lighting means 107, 13 and the light-intercepting means 14 based on control information at the time of detecting the sight line, is provided, and each operation control information of the lighting means 107, 13 and the light-intercepting means 14 obtained at the time of the operation collecting the sight line correcting datum performed prior to the detection of the sight line is used at the time of controlling the operation of the lighting means and the light-intercepting means during the detection of the sight line. |
