PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use an iron roller, and to make the roller not generate irregular fixing strength or irregular reflection density. SOLUTION: This fixing roller is produced by using an iron cylinder having 0.5mm thickness as a core metal 14 and plating the inner surface of the cylinder with copper to form a 5μm-thick metal layer 16. A fluorocarbon resin layer 20 as a release layer having low viscosity is formed by an usual method so that the transfer paper 18 to which a toner image 17 is fixed can be easily released, while a rod heater 22 is housed in the core metal 14.
