A carton formed by folding a sheet so that the opposite edges are joined along a zone 6, is coated on the inside at least with a layer 9 of liquid-impermeable material; at the joining zone 6 one edge is folded over on itself to present a coated periphery 11 impermeable to the contents, the folded over edge being thinned to pressure a uniform thickness, e.g. as illustrated in Fig. 3 (not shown). To close the open ends of the sleeve, a plastic-coated sheet 7 may be secured to end flaps 2-5 of the sheet. |
