PURPOSE: To provide a contraceptive device of an intravaginal insertion type which is smoothly and safely insertable into the vagina and is capable of forming a contraceptive film having an excellent contraceptive property in the vagina by smoothly and safely inserting the front end into the vagina in such a manner that the front end is positioned near the ostium uteri. CONSTITUTION: The contraceptive device 1 is formed by making a front head part 2 having a hollow three-dimensional shape communicate with the one-side ends of hollow drum parts 4, 4a via connecting parts 3, 3a and providing the other ends of these hollow drum parts 4, 4a with a detachable insertion assisting means 6 and is formed of a water-soluble film-like material contg. a contraceptive agent having deformable and form retaining properties. The peripheral surfaces of the connecting parts 3, 3a have rugged parts. As a result, the device is easily and surely insertable into the vagina even if the inside of the vagina has any form. In addition, the exact formation of the contraceptive film having high dynamic strength into the vagina from the ostium uteri is possible and the contraceptive film capable of maintaining the contraceptive property is yielded in spite of partial failure. |
